NEVER ENOUGH

In this world we feel as if we are never enough.  Never pretty enough, never strong enough, never loved enough, never cared for enough, never smart enough, we don’t have enough stuff, we need the latest and greatest…But through Jesus Christ we are enough.  We are loved enough, we are cared for enough, we are smart enough, we are strong enough, we don’t need all the “stuff”.  I thank God that he loves me so much just as I am.  I don’t have to carry on an act anymore since finding God.  I have found that I don’t need or even want the things I use to think I wanted or needed.  I have such a security in being Gods child!  A security I have never had in the world.  Imagine all the pressure that was taken from me when I got that revelation…GOD LOVES ME JUST AS I AM.  I cant earn my way to heaven or in Gods good graces, so I don’t have that pressure to perform for him either.

About a month ago, a dear brother finally felt God’s great love envelope him.  He described to me how it felt.  This is what he said, “I felt a love that I had never felt before, I felt peace, security, joy, and hope.  I have never known God really loved me like that.”

We can know that God loves us but until Gods love envelopes you, you will not truly KNOW his love.  Gods love is not something that can be taught.  We were taught to love incorrectly in the world so the love that we know is not the correct love.  Its not the love that God has.  Until someone experiences God’s love, our minds can not comprehend this love.  True love…

Lord God I pray that who ever reads this receives a burning desire to feel your true love for them.  Lord God that your love would wrap around them and engulf them.  Lord God that you would teach them YOUR true love.  I thank you Lord God that you love each person in the world.  That you love them just as they are.  Thank you Lord God, you are good!

Redeming Love

I have been thinking about love.  How the world loves, how we love, how God loves, how we love our family our friends.  It’s easy to look at someone else and see how they do not love the way we think they should.  To point out either in our hearts or out loud to someone how they fail.  But have we ever stopped and truly examined ourselves?  I am quick to anger when someone judges me or my family, to hold a grudge.  But is this love?  The bible tells me that this is not love.  Jesus showed us that this is not love.  This does not mean that the person that judges isn’t wrong, but we need to be more focused on ourselves.  After all we can’t change the other person, only God can do that.  So I choose to pray instead of holding a grudge.  God will do the healing of the heart, God will do the prompting.  That is if we allow it.

I like the story in the bible about the adulterer that was going to be stoned.  Jesus stepped in and said to everyone, if you have no sin in your lives then throw the first stone.  Of course no one threw a stone.  In our flesh we all fail.  How am I to judge someone else?  I think it fitting to let God do the judging, after all he is perfect.  He loves correctly.  He reads the heart.

Since birth others have taught me to love.  They told me how much they loved me but would call me names, abandon me, hit me, judge me, show no compassion or mercy and so forth.  Since this is my experience with love, this is how I loved.  But God tells us this is not love.  He tells us that love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always preserves.  Love never fails.

This is not the love I gave or experienced.  I have a choice to fix it, I choose to fix it.  I have to tell myself, just because I am going to fix something about myself, I can’t expect everyone else to fix themselves.  I am simply doing it because God asks it of me.

In order to understand what God teaches on love, I had to look at a few scriptures.  I had to look at my experience of God’s love for me.  The bible tells us that Jesus is the Shepard and we are the flock.  That the Shepard will never leave us, he will never abandon us, and no matter how wrong we are, he is still there loving us and reaching out to us.  God shows his love by guiding us, caring for us.  He transforms, renews, and strengthens.  He fills with hope, joy and peace.  He comforts, he forgives and he gives salvation.  He is gentle and definitely patient.  God honors, he protects and he will answer when I call on him.  God corrects.  This is what love is.

This is how I should be striving to love.  Not the way I was taught, not the way someone else loves me and definitely not the way the world loves.  This includes loving myself correctly too.  I’ve asked myself, self how can I love like God?  I cannot transform or renew someone.  This can be done in many ways.  Not the same way as God can but you or I can do it by simply using a kind word, uplifting someone, encouraging someone, or a kind gesture.

The greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, mind and soul.  The second Greatest is to love your neighbor as you love yourself.  I asked myself why Gods greatest commandments are about love.  I believe it’s because love breaks down walls, it softens hearts, and love is contagious.  We are called to love.  We MUST love ALL.  God’s grace found me and you as we are.  God’s grace meets us where we are.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him will not parish but have everlasting life.

Come back to your first love

Revelation 2:1-7

“To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

What does this mean anyway?  Fallen from your first love?
Does anyone remember when they were first saved, they dedicated all their time to praying, praising, reading the word.  Having such a joy and love deep within them?  Our love for God was so strong it felt like it would burst out at any moment.  We wanted to shout Gods love from the mountain tops?  This is what it means.

Do you find yourself doing things for people, the church, or God with hesitation, with a grudge, or maybe you now do it because its a ritual, or because you feel obligated, or have to be “the best Christian”?  If you said yes then you have fallen from your first love.

If you said yes to any of this you will have your lampstand taken from you!  Repent and turn back to your first love.  Do not make excuses.  God is reaching out to you and waiting for you to come back to him.  What are deeds if there is no love?

Blessings,

L.

“Christians”

I am very grieved in my spirit over people who claim to be “Christians”.  My heart feels sad and I am ashamed of people who say they are Christians but look down on people who are not.  Who look at people with haughty and judgmental eyes.

So many times, I look through these posts under the tags that are related to God.  I come across posts from people who apparently are not Christian, or people who seem to be reaching out, and there is not one comment to the person who posted.  NONE.  Not one comment of encouragement, nothing….

Do you think you are a true Christian because you post about God.  Do you think you are a true Christian because you go to church, or read the bible.  Do you think you are a true Christian because you make better choices than your neighbor?  Let me tell you something “Christian”  God reads your heart, God reads your motives, God knows when you look at someone with haughty eyes, God will judge even “Christians”.

I am ashamed, I am ashamed to be called a Christian.  Too many people out there call themselves Christians but do not represent the true God, my God, the creator of heaven and earth, the creator of all life.  Where is your grace? where is your light? where is your love?

Christians are called to love!  Christians are called to bring people to God!  Are you bringing people to God with your haughty looks?    Are you bringing people to God by ignoring a call for help or encouragement!  Are you bringing people to God with your religious spirit?  God will judge you for every person you turned away from him.  Where is your love, Where is your grace?  Where are the true Christians?!

REDEMPTION

I was once a very lost, lonely, tired, scared and shattered person.  Many horrible things happened to me at a young age.  I was a torn person filled with hate and resentment amongst other things.  I made some bad decisions that led to a worse life which in turn caused me to dig myself deeper into a life I believed I was destined for.  I was an ugly person….

The reason why I am writing this to anyone who will read, is because I was terribly wrong.  I was loved, I was watched over, and yes I was an ugly person But God still loved me just as I was.  And he loves you just as you are.

If you are tired, lost, lonely, scared or shattered God can save you right where you are.  He can heal your heart and your past.  God can restore your mind.  He can turn your life around completely.  I know this for a fact because he has done this for me and countless others.  It wasn’t over night (although he has done that for some) but he was with me the whole time holding me in his hand.

If you would like to ask God in your heart, it is very easy.

Romans 10:9-10. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and  believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Example Prayer:

Lord God I thank you that you gave me a way by sending your son Jesus Christ to die and raise again for my sins.  I ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me of all my sins. Lord God I praise you and give you rule over my life past, present, and future.  I thank you Lord God that you have cleansed me and made me a new creation.  Lord God I ask that you restore and renew my heart and mind.  I declare that I am a child of God and I am all that God says I am.  I am healed, whole, victorious and an over comer through Jesus Christ.  In Jesus name Amen.

After you have done the above in Romans, you are now saved.  This means that you are a new creation.  You are new inside!  Ask God to restore and renew your mind and heart.  Turn away from sin and declare that you are a child of God.   You may not change over night but God reads the heart.  He knows every thought and every motive.  He knows when you are sincere and if you are trying your best.  He will guide you with his bible and holy spirit.  You are not left alone.

What helped me when I gave my life to God?

  1. Pray, pray and pray some more
  2. reading the bible/study the bible/meditate on the bible/believe the bible
  3. listening to praise and worship
  4. surround myself with different people. In my case I found a good church.

If you just dedicated your life to God I want to welcome you to the family!  Just remember Christians are not perfect but we are a work in progress.  If you would like prayer I would be honored to pray for you or with you.  Just leave me your name.

Ephesians 2

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.  3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.  4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions it is by grace you have been saved.  6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  9 not by works, so that no one can boast.  10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (that done in the body by the hands of men)  12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.  His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.  17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.  18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

I love Ephesians 2!  It speaks about the wholeness of Gods structure or plan.  One of my favorit parts is 2:22.  In him (Christ Jesus the chief cornerstone) we are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.  This is not talking about a building but each one of Gods people.  Each together through Christ do we make up his church.  God gives each Christian a gift (at least one, some have more).  We are to use these gifts for Gods Glory to build up faith in the church and unbelievers.  If Gods people are secluding themselves or not using Gods gift(s), then we are not doing Gods work.  I encourage all to stop secluding yourselfs.  All true Christians need eachother, and the world needs us.

Be in Gods love towards all,

L.
